Because it's good to introduce yourself to strangers...
My favorite greeting is "hi thar". So I guess I should start with that. Hi thar.
My given name is Natalie. Since then, I've shortened my first name and pinned on my middle name; hence being called Nat Marie online. I go by other names as well, ranging from Shadow on message boards, Chickenhead from my niece, and "Hey Fat Bitch!" for those who don't care to know me. I say that I relate a little more to the Shadow nickname. It's a dual meaning behind it; one meaning which is simple--inspired one of my favorite video game characters, Shadow the Hedgehog, and the other meaning which is way too long for even myself to remember. My bad.
I was born, raised, and beaten (literally--I have seen many a sandal and belt) in Queens, NY on a frigid March 17th. I'm still residing in the same house that I've lived in for 23.9 years so far. I'm trying to change that in the very near future, because seriously, who wants to live with their parents until they're 40? I am the youngest of three daughters, the aunt of two girls and three boys (two of whom are college-aged), the friend who is great to go to for relationship advice (even though they know damn well that I'm the worst to ask), and the future girlfriend of someone who needs a freaking GPS to find me.
I am the owner of Crestfallen and Miss Sim Goddess. I also owned n0madic.net and unorthodox-of-me.org at one point, among other sites (mostly message boards). I've been on the web scene actively since I was 18, but was on bolt.com long before that. Blogging is required for me to stay sane. As long as I have my laptop and sarcasm, I'm pretty good. But if my laptop isn't available, a pen works just as well.
In case you haven't noticed from the tone of this profile of myself, I am bitingly sarcastic. Sometimes it gets me in trouble, but most times I get some laughs--even when I'm not trying. Seriously, I'm dryer than my sister's turkey. I'm also a cynic; most of it stems from being done wrong by the opposite sex. On the flip side, I like to (try and) think outside of the box creatively. The Cat in Bee's Clothing was one idea. I have an obsessive personality; which is very evident on my Sims 2 site, and once my ex-boyfriend introduced me to iced coffee, it was a wrap. Bad idea, because I have a tendency to drink it at night. Bad idea altogether, because I'm slightly lactose intolerant. Yeeah.
I don't really have a favorite movie, but music is a huge aspect of my life. I'll listen to anything that sounds good (which knocks out a lot of rap/hip hop music), but I am very partial to smooth jazz and downtempo. I also think that 80's music was some of the best darn stuff ever made. It should be like that again. I love music so much, that I have a tendency to walk out in public and sing pretty loudly. Even when my mp3 player isn't on, I might break out in song (but rarely ever dance). Yes, I am crazy. Yes, I am weird. But I embrace it. I call it "a different kind of normal".
By the way, I also have a tendency to not be able to shut up. This was supposed to be a short bio. Apparently not when it comes to me. But I will do that now. I hope you enjoyed this, and I hope you enjoy my "humo(u)r" in some way or another.
